Metallic Bodypaint FAQ

Body paint shoots are a bit different than typical portrait shoots so I’ve put together this Frequently Asked Questions page to give models an idea of what to expect.

How Long Does the Shoot Last?

The typical body paint shoot requires 3 to 4 hours. The duration will vary based on our creative chemistry, your experience, and whether I include a non-paint costume portrait segment at the beginning of the shoot. This time also includes body paint application which I’ll do, and paint removal which the model does in the shower.

HOW IS THE BODY PAINT APPLIED?

A detailed information page on the type of paint utilizied, application and removal methods, and model feedback should answer all your body paint questions and is located HERE. If you have additional questions, please don’t hesistate to contact me.

ARE THERE ANY PRE-SHOOT REQUIREMENTS?

Yes as outlined below:

  • Pre-shoot Checklist Call:  Given the unique natire of the shoot, I always conduct a pre-shoot information call typically 3 to 5 days before the shoot. During that call I’ll walk you through the shoot process, ensure that you’ve familarized yourself with the paint application process, and answer any questions you may have.
  • Model Release Form: all models must sign the model release form prior to the start of the shoot. The release form is located HERE.

CAN I PROVIDE INPUT INTO THE CREATIVE PROCESS?

Absolutely – in fact I encourage it!  I carefully plan out each shoot in minute detail to ensure that we’re both satisified with the end result. This includes a variety of poses I’ll select to enhance the depth and range of my metallic portfolio. If I sense that you have instinctive pose flow skills I’ll encourage you to elaborate a specific pose in free-form pose mode. If you have creative ideas on poses you’d like to include in your portfolio please send me examples via text or email prior to the shoot.

do you have model recommendations from prior shoots?

Yes and I’m quite proud of them. I take this art very seriously and go out of my way to be professional and ensure that you not only feel comformatble throughout the shoot, but have a lot of fun during the process. My model recommendations can be found HERE, and on my Model Mayhem PROFILE page.
